Kawandi Mini (or Big Stitch Mini Quilt) 7/26/25 Class
Due to popular Demand, we will have additional Kawandi classes in May and July.
Kawandi is a hand-stitched quilt made from scraps of fabric, typically old saris, by people of African descent in Western India. The word "Kawandi" means "quilt" in this context, so the phrase "Kawandi quilt" is redundant but widely used.
This class is perfect for beginner quilters. If you've ever wanted to try out a hand quilting class but were too intimidated because it looked hard or complicated, then this class is for you. I promise you can make this unique mini quilt.
I will have a specially curated selection of scrap fabrics and trims for each person that signs up for the class, which will include, scrap saris, velvet and other embellishments to make their Kawandi really pop.
This class will be offered on 7/26/25.
This class starts promptly at 10:30 am until 4:00 pm.
A supply list will be emailed over once you've registered for the class.
