Issey Miyake Vogue Pattern - Multi-Colored Buffalo Print Drapey Coat
This quilted flannel coat is a showstopper. It’s made from the Issey Miyake Vogue Designer Orginal Pattern #1476.
I originally made this exact pattern in 1984 when I was pregnant with my first daughter. I didn’t quilt it that time, because I didn’t know anything about quilting then, but that coat kept me warm for many years.
Fast forward to 2023 and I found this pattern on Etsy and immediately bought it out of nostalgia and couldn’t wait to make it again. With my newfound quilting skills, I put my plan together.
I used flannel, cotton batting and a gold sateen for the inside liner and quilted the coat on my Bernina Q20.
This coat is iconic and has been favored by many, but only a special person could pull it off. Look at pics of all the people that have tried it, just like the sword in the stone, this coat is it’s own star in the making.
